“My daughter has received a donor heart, but there are thousands of people who are still waiting for organs. There is not much awareness about organ donation in the rural area. I have gone through the pain and agony. So, I have decided to work for the organ donation cause in rural areas,” says Krishna Mujmule.
Krishna Mujmule is a relieved man. His daughter Dhanashree, has finally got a heart after 14 months. And now the brave father has decided to spread the movement of organ donation in his hometown, Jalana, Maharashtra.
Dhanashree has been admitted to the ICU and will be there under observation for the next 48 hours.
While speaking to My Medical Mantra, Mujmule said, “I didn’t know anything about organ donation. But, when the doctors told me about Dhanashree’s condition and the heart transplant procedure, I got to know about this. Dhanashree has undergone a heart transplant procedure and is currently in the ICU.”
Krishna further added, “In metro cities like Mumbai, there is awareness about organ donation. But, back in my hometown, there is not much awareness. So, i have decided to work for this cause. I want to spread organ donation awareness in rural Maharashtra, where it is still lacking.”
