Navratri is the time to show off a toned and flawless back when you wear those colourful backless cholis.

Few quick tips to look your best, be it the face or the back.

Back facial

You may opt for the age-old humble facial if you have naturally healthy skin, and do not have blemishes or problem areas on the back skin. It would give your skin a glow as well as relax your muscles, and make you feel good.

Back polishing

Running out of time? No worries, this is the quickest way to get your back polished, in case you have a same-day event or the next day.

The device used in this treatment scrubs the back which exfoliates the few upper dead and dull layers of the skin for a cleaner skin to be seen.

Party peels

If you have mild uneven pigmentation on the back or a few post-acne marks or you want something better than what a facial can offer, you can go for a quick chemical peel.

These are simple medicated solutions which have to be applied under doctor’s supervision and takes about 10 to 15 minutes for the procedure. After which the skin exfoliates, and the dead skin falls, and a fresh, clean skin shows up.

Some peels like papaya peel and lactic peel are called party peels, as they give an instant glow to the skin.

However, it is advisable to undergo 3 to 4 sessions over a period of one month to get long-lasting results.

It is also the quickest way to get your skin glow, although, it lasts only for a few days.

Chemical peels

Alike party peel treatment, the only difference here is, a chemical solution is used and may make skin reddish, and dry for 2-3 days, the glow comes after 4-5 days. Accordingly, it should be done a few days before an event, as the treatment takes time to heal.

Q switch laser

For those who can spend a little more, then this is a quick way to improve skin tone and dullness, it is called laser toning. It can be done one or two days before the event. The laser beam targets the pigments in dark areas and brightens up the skin. Results last for a few days with no side effects.

Cost of the treatment

The cheapest being the skin polishing and party peel which will cost about 2,000 to 3,000 rupees for a session.

A session of a laser can cost up to 5,000 to 6,000 rupees per session.

Also, here are some grandma’s tips, if you are willing to do something at home.

  • Mix milk fat or malai with honey and turmeric and apply it on the back to give a shine to the skin.
  • Mix coffee powder with honey, apply for few minutes and wash off.
  • Lemon juice with granular sugar can be applied on the skin and scrubbed for few minutes. It also acts as exfoliate to remove dead and dull skin.
