After Bewafa Sonam became a popular across every section of the Internet, a Sonu with trust issues gained popularity through a Marathi song ‘Sonu tule mahyavar bharosa nay ka’ (Sonu don’t you trust me). When the song became viral on the Internet, everyone came up with their own versions of it. But a lactation consultant is has made a version of the Sonu song which aims to spread awareness about the breastfeeding.
Dr Sarita Bhagwat who is a lactation consultant based in Pune has given a message through the song. She along with her colleagues have stated key facts concerning breastfeeding to be kept in mind by lactating mothers through the song. Her song informs us about things such as, when a mother should start breastfeeding, how she holds a baby, what precautions she should take and the characteristics of breast milk. Dr Sarita Bhagwat has been associated with Breast Feeding Promotion Network of India (BPNI) Maharashtra branch, since 15 years.
The first week of August is always observed as International Breastfeeding Week. Keeping this week in mind, Dr Sarita Bhagwat has created her version of the Sonu song to spread awareness about breastfeeding.
While speaking about what inspired this song, Dr Bhagwat said, “The beat of this song is very catchy. It was on my mind for a while to make a song to spread awareness on breastfeeding on the lines of these beats. I couldn’t find a better opportunity than the International Breastfeeding Week.”
