- Doctors from Cama and GT hospitals on Monday, protested against the doctors assault by wearing black ribbons on their arms.
- Resident doctors from the Sion and JJ hospital are running a parallel OPD outside the hospitals.
400 resident doctors from Sir JJ Group of Hospital, Mumbai, have been on strike since the past three days. The protesting doctors have received the a gesture of support from doctors attached to Sion, Cama, GT and St George Hospital. The doctors from Cama and GT hospital are wearing black ribbons on their arms to show their solidarity with the doctors from JJ hospital.
While speaking to My Medical Mantra, Dr Ganesh Nilpatrawar, a resident doctor from JJ Hospital said, “We have been on mass bunk since the past three days. We have three major demands, as far as security is concern. But the state government is not ready to listen to our demands. On Sunday, May 20, we had a meeting with the Director of the Directorate of Medical Education and Research. But the meeting did not yield any result. So, we have decided to operate parallel OPD’s wearing black ribbons.”
