CISF personnel saves passenger after he suffered a cardiac arrest

After the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) jawan saved his life, the message of the medical emergency was immediately passed on to Mumbai International Airport Ltd (MIAL) medical team


The domestic airport in Mumbai is one of the busiest domestic airports in the country. Together, they handle several thousands of passengers in a day.

On October 26, a passenger named Satyanarayana Gubbala, who hails from Andhra Pradesh was scheduled to fly from Mumbai to Hyderabad, but he suddenly collapsed near Terminal- 2 at the Mumbai Airport. He collapsed due to a cardiac arrest.

A few of his fellow passengers saw him and ran to his aid. At the same time, Mohit Kumar Sharma, an Assistant Sub-inspector approached the man with along with few other CISF officers. He immediately responded to the situation and quickly gave CPR to the passenger for several minutes till the medical team arrived at the spot with their kit.

The man was later shifted to Nanavati Hospital in Mumbai and according to doctors, his condition is stable now.

The instant response of Mohit Kumar was recorded on the CCTV camera. The CISF took to the micro-blogging site to share the news and applaud the act of their personnel. The tweet reads, “#CISF personnel saved the life of a passenger who fell down due to cardiac arrest at Domestic Terminal of Mumbai Airport.#CISF ASI/Exe Mohit Kumar Sharma rushed to unconscious passenger & immediately gave CPR to him. Prompt response of #CISF personnel saved the life of a passenger.”

The prompt act of providing CPR timely by the CISF personnel was appreciated by the fellow passengers and the airport medical team.
