Bombay hospital’s renowned doc missing, police complaint lodged

Bombay hospital’s renowned gastroenterologist Dr Deepak Amarapurkar is missing, since, Tuesday afternoon. A missing complaint has been lodged. Meanwhile, speaking to My Medical Mantra, Jay Kumar, additional commissioner of police, central region, confirms that Dadar police station has received a missing complaint

 

Bombay hospital’s renowned doc missing, police complaint lodged

Dr Deepak Amarapurkar, a gastroenterologist at Bombay hospital,  left around 4:30 in the afternoon, from the hospital to Prabhadevi, where he resides. After which, Dr Amarapurkar is still missing. Meanwhile, Jay Kumar, additional commissioner of police, central region Mumbai, confirmed “Dr Amarapurkar has been missing since yesterday evening and a complaint has been received by Dadar police station.”

Speaking to My Medical Mantra, Dr Gautam Bhansali, practicing physician at Bombay hospital said, “In the afternoon, he left from the hospital and around 6.30 pm he reached near Deepak cinema, Elphinstone. Due to waterlogging, he asked his driver to get the car at home and started walking towards home. Though, the driver reached home but Dr Amrapurkar was untraceable. He had called his wife around 6.30 pm and informed his whereabouts. And the location from where he is missing, from there, his house is just 15 minutes away.”

He added, “Since yesterday evening, we are in touch with police, municipal and disaster management authorities. We are enquiring about him in all the hospitals. Still, we are clueless. According to police, his umbrella has been found near Deepak Talkies. We are still searching for him.”

According to Dr Bhansali, in the evening, it was known as Dr Amrapurkar was missing. Since then, it has been 18 hours and still he is untraceable.
