What is the image of an ideal doctor which you have in mind? Does it resemble somebody who can explain complex surgeries using a song like that ‘Lungi Dance’? Or somebody who is doing a sword dance to explain another surgery?
A special session which was both informative as well as fun was conducted on the third day of the Bombay Ophthalmologists’ Association (BOA)’s FOCUS 2017 conference. ‘Ophthalmologists’ Premier League’ (OPL) was the title of this session. Doctors had to creatively explain a difficult case in which they have encountered as an ophthalmologist.
There were four teams from Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and Chennai. Each of these teams had to present difficult cases by relating it with a popular movie scene or song. Excelling in creativity and innovation is a doctor’s key to success.
The session was a grand success with about thousand five hundred people glued to each video. “We have this OPL session every year and it is fun,” said Dr Ragini Parekh, Scientific Advisor of FOCUS 2017, BOA and head of the department of Ophthalmology, Sir JJ Group of Hospitals.
The session was hosted by Dr Amar Agarwal, who further entertained the audience with his witty jokes and comprehensible expressions. There were three major prizes given to the participant doctors.
The best entertainer was awarded to Dr Mohan Rajan from Bangalore Challengers team. The best video was given to Dr Nitin Balakrishnan from Mumbai Multifocals and the best team also, was awarded to Mumbai Multifocals.
“We sincerely thank Dr T P Lahane for putting up this wonderful event and BOA for hosting the FOCUS 2017 so wonderfully,” said Dr Agarwal.
