Amruta Fadnavis meets up with BMC chief to discuss concerns of mid-day meal suppliers

During the meeting with the BMC chief, Amruta Fadnavis raised a few important matters and concerns of the women’s organisation, who supply mid-day meal to the children in the BMC schools


Amruta Fadnavis, Wife of Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, on Tuesday, April 30, met the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) Commissioner Ajoy Mehta.

While speaking to My Medical Mantra, Amruta Fadnavis said, “The women’s organisation that supplies mid-day meal to the BMC schools had a various issue related to the tender process. They had an objection on the few clauses of the tender process, which they feel are against them. We met the BMC chief and requested him to look into the matter. After all, the issue is related to the livelihood of these women.”

“The BMC commissioner listened to all the issues which were brought to his notice and gave a satisfactory reply to us,” added Amruta Fadnavis.

But when asked whether she will raise the question of Anganwadi Sevika issues with the civic body or state government, Amruta replied, “Anganwadi Sevikas too have a lot of concerns. And I will surely raise their concerns as well to the proper authority. We are in touch with various organisations, and we will take up the issue very soon.”

The Anganwadi Sevikas has not been paid their salary for the past two months. The Anganwadi Sevikas have given the ultimatum to the government that if their pending dues are not cleared before May 01, then they will go on indefinite strike.
