A letter was sent out to all healthcare professionals by AIIMs, New Delhi, in regards with the controversial NMC bill.
It stated that, ‘as we all know the NMC bill was referred to the standing committee under the chairmanship of Ram Gopal Yadav, on January 01, 2018 to submit a report in the budget session of Parliament starting from January 29, 2018.
The letter read out, ‘RDA AIIMS invites all healthcare professionals including faculty, resident doctors, students, nursing officers and all those non healthcare professionals who want to contribute for this policy issue can come forward and discuss NMC bill in details. We will prepare a report of our discussion and submit it to the chairman standing committee and also to the Union Health Minister.
The RDA AIIMS also invites the chairman standing committee to attend this meeting and understand their grievances before submitting the report.
Their message informed that medical education is a very important part of the healthcare system and it is our duty and social responsibility to sit together and discuss about the policy which will govern the future of medical education.
While speaking to My Medical Mantra president of AIIMs resident doctors association Dr Harjit Singh Bhatti said, “On Monday, all doctors will discuss the national medical commission bill. Ayurveda and Homeopathy doctors have their different opinion on the same. We will prepare a draft by incorporating all the suggestions and the draft will be submitted to Union Health Ministry. Doctors from Delhi, Mumbai and Haryana will participate in the discussion.”
