Mahadik has raised this demand while taking part in the debate on Homeopathy Council issue in Lok Sabha.

While speaking on this issue, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) MP from Kolhapur, Maharashtra, Dhananjay Mahadik said, “There are lakhs of students across the country, who are studying Homeopathy medicine. These students are ready to serve in rural areas as a doctor. The rural areas do not have the good medical infrastructure and dispensaries. My demand is that the government should permit them to provide medical facilities in the rural areas. They should be taken in the government job.”

He further added, “Homeopathy medicines have no side effect and good for the children as well. If the government takes these doctors in the government service, then their employment issue will also be solved.”

The Federation of Homeopathy Doctors has welcomed this suggestion. Dr Prashant Rane, President of the Federation said, “This is a welcome move. We are ready to serve in the rural areas. The government should absorb us in the government job.”

Dr Mahesh Naik a homeopathy specialist said, “This is indeed a good suggestion. But, if the government decides to allow us to practice in the rural area, then they should make it clear which medicine should be practiced allopathy or homeopathy.”
