Aamir Khan was schedule to appear at Satyamev Jayate Water Cup awards, but he could not attend it as he is contracted with swine flu. He informed this through a video conference at Pune on Sunday.
Seated beside his wife, Kiran Rao; Aamir Khan, said through the video conference, “We are very sad to inform you that after working so hard for a year, when the time came for us to celebrate, this illness, which spreads rapidly, has forced us to stay at home for a week.”
Meanwhile, Anupama Chopra – film critic, who was present at the event said, Kiran Roa, wife of Aamir Khan, too has contracted the disease.
Swine flu cases are rising in the state. According to Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), around 413 positive cases of swine flu were detected in Mumbai, in the month of July. Pune district continues to top the list of swine flu affected patients. In the month of July, total 21 swine flu deaths were reported in Pune. While in this year, total 80 deaths were reported in the district.
