A small donation from a big heart, Dhanashree contributes to CM Medical Relief Fund

It might be a small contribution, but it was a big gesture from a tiny heart. The parents of Dhanashree Mujmule who themselves have seen difficult times decided to contribute to the fund so that no one has to undergo what they underwent in the low phase of their life

Dhanashree’s family heard about this appeal and has generously contributed Rs 11,000 towards Chief Minister’s Medical Relief Fund. Dhanashree herself handed over the cheque to the Chief Minister

Earlier, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis had appealed to people that instead of extravagant gifts on his birthday, he would like if people came together and made a small contribution toward the CM Medical Relief Fund to help the poor.

Dhanashree Mujmule was diagnosed with dilated cardiomyopathy in July 2017 and a year later she underwent a heart transplant surgery in July 2018. She is around five-and-a-half-years-old now and it has been a year since she received a donor heart.

While she was hospitalised her father ran from pillar to post to arrange funds for her treatment. During this time, the family has also received monetary aid from the CM Medical Relief Fund

On July 23, Dhanashree and her family met CM Fadnavis and handed over the cheque to the CM’s Medical Relief Fund.

Dhanashree is now hale and hearty and the family decided to perform this noble as the family knows what exactly people out there are facing as their relatives face financial uncertainty and are in urgent need of treatment.

While speaking to My Medical Mantra Krishna Mujmule, Dhanashree’s father, said,  “Dhanashree has contributed Rs 11,000 towards the Chief Minister’s Medical Relief fund. We had been through the ups and downs during her heart transplant treatment. We don’t want other patients to suffer due to the unavailability of money. So, we decided to contribute towards the CM fund.”

He joyously informed, “Dhanashree has given the check with her own hands to CM Fadnavis. My humble appeal to people is rather than spending money unnecessarily, you can donate money to CM fund, this will help save a precious life.”

CM Fadnavis celebrated his birthday on July 22. And had appealed to citizens not to spend money on flowers and bouquets. Rather contribute that amount towards the CM Relief Fund.

He tweeted in gratitude as in one day the fund received around 1.75 crores. Thousands of people came together and made this possible.

Om Prakash Shetye, Officer on Special Duty, Chief Minister Relief Fund, “Through Chief Minister Relief Fund, poor and needy people are given medical aid for their treatment. Over the past five years, 56,000 patients have received monetary aid for the treatment. Chief Minister’s Relief Fund has disbursed more than Rs 550 crores to 56,318 needy people for medical requirements since 2014.”

“Our humble appeal to people is, please come forward and donate to save a precious life,” pleaded Shetye.
