50 lakh patients treated under Ayushman Bharat in a year

The Modi government's flagship programme, Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY), touted as the world's largest government-funded healthcare programme, on Monday crossed the 50 lakh treatment mark


In just over a year, the Ayushman Bharat has completed 50 lakh hospital admissions.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded the efforts made in the health sector as India achieved the milestone of providing benefit to over 50 lakh people under the Scheme.

He said, “It’s an important milestone in the journey of creating a healthy India! It would make every Indian proud that in a year, over 50 lakh citizens have benefited from free-of-cost treatment thanks to Ayushman Bharat. Apart from curing, this scheme is empowering several Indians.”

While speaking to My Medical Mantra, Dr Praveen Gedam, Deputy CEO, Ayushman Bharat, informed, “In the span of one year, Ayushman Bharat has achieved a major milestone. Over 50 lakh citizens have received cashless treatment under the Ayushman Bharat scheme.”
