According to the police, the accused persons were practising as a doctor without a degree. The accused persons have been remanded to police custody till October 19th

Bogus doctors are the menace to society and they are the threat to human life. In a major crackdown, Mumbai police have busted a big racket of bogus doctors in central Mumbai.
According to the Mumbai Police, the bogus doctors used to put up the advertisement on railway platforms, inside trains, and near the public toilets. And lure common citizens with false promises of curing sexual disorders.
According to the press releases issued by Mumbai Police, the bogus doctor’s used to give medicines to the poor, and in return forced them to pay a huge amount of money. They did not have a qualified degree to practice as a doctor.
Recently, while giving his opinion on the subject of bogus doctors in My Medical Mantra’s ‘Healthy Maharashtra’ coffee table book, Dr Shivkumar Utture, President, Maharashtra Medical Council, had raised the issue of bogus doctors.
Dr Utture had stated, “The state should form a mechanism to eliminate quackery. This is the biggest blot on the healthcare system. No citizen of Maharashtra should fall prey to quacks. The Maharashtra Medical Council is trying its level best to plug-in the gaps and takes stern action against the quacks so that Maharashtra’s health will not be compromised at any given point.”
